CCNP Security Certification

Cisco Certified Network Professional Security (CCNP Security) certification program is aligned specifically to the job role of the Cisco Network Security Engineer responsible for Security in Routers, Switches, Networking devices and appliances, as well as choosing, deploying, supporting and troubleshooting Firewalls, VPNS, and IDS/IPS solutions for their networking environments.

The National Security Agency (NSA) and the Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS) recognizes that Cisco CCNP Security courseware meets the CNSS 4013 training standard. In addition, the United States Department of Defense (DoD) has certified and approved Cisco CCNP Security certification as DoD 8570.01-M compliant for the IAT Level III category.


As of June 30, 2017, Department of Defense (DoD) Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program recognizes and approved the CCNP Security Certification for inclusion in the DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certifications.
